Leave marine life intact

15th May 2012

Tested in both  Mediterranean and Tropical waters by the internationally recognised leading Marine Scientist Prof. Roberto Danovaro from a major Italian University, Aethic  Sôvée has been proven 100% eco-compatible. Unlike many other claimants to the ‘reef-safe’ description, Sôvée is the only product that has undergone testing to prove this in its entirety. Biodegradable is not enough. Neither is the use of so called ‘mineral’, ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ sun filters the most common of which, Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, have been proven to damage coral and plankton.

To create Sôvée and extensive range  of ingredients was tested. All those that did damage were rejected. Only those that did not harm were used to develop the final formula. The finished product in its entirety was then tested again with a rigorous protocol and passed both on coral and mussels leaving both these delicate organisms intact.

Since being launched Sôvée has been granted a patent for its formula. By definition, patents are peer-verified by other independent scientists before being approved.

By virtue of ultra off-setting its transportation-only acquatrail through The Going Blue Foundation, it is the world’s first sunscreen to receive the prestigious Marine Positive certification.

We did not stop there in our quest to minimise environmental impact and to be consistent with the fully ecocompatible cream itself, we were the first in the industry to adopt a bio-plastic bottle. Bio-plastic technology is in constant evolution and we continue to pursue the latest viable options and developments in this area with our selected expert partners.
